The Happy potter is a family owned ceramics cafe, where you can paint a pot or decoupage either our bisque products or papier-mache items. We have been bringing arts & crafts to the Stockport community since November 2015. In our pottery studio you can come and relax for a couple of hours whilst creating beautiful painted pots or try foam clay for a change. We do not charge a studio fee on top of our pottery prices.
Hi I’m Fay I am the owner of the Happy Potter, it has been a long time ambition of mine to run my own arts and crafts business, and after many years working with babies and small children within the Swimming industry, I decided that a paint a pot crafting studio was just what I was looking for.
I love crafting from making papier-mâché objects to decoupage (decopatch) all that gluing and sticking little bits of colourful paper is such great fun, and if my daughter is joining in it has to include glitter!
One of my favourite past times is creating character cakes, I have made all my children’s birthday cakes they include homer Simpson, Peppa pig, my little pony, Easter rabbits and also Halloween cake pops. All the party animals and tiny tots pottery that we sell remind me so much of the cake characters I used to make.
Hi I’m Mark, Husband and business partner to Fay. I’m a people person and try not to take life to seriously! People always said to me that I should be a children’s entertainer, as really I am just a big kid at heart. I have worked for several companies through the years, but always had the burning ambition to be my own boss, (oh well still not made it – it’s Fay!).
I have a keen sense of design and have always been interested in making things, deconstructing things and rebuilding things – sometimes with bits left over!
I have always loved painting things too but usually it was doors or fences, but since we started Happy Potter, painting bisque is my new favourite thing. It’s just so relaxing! I have painted loads of different things since we started, some of my favorites are the monster plates, the calendars, and lots of comedy mugs. Head over to our gallery and see if you can spot them.
